In 2015, I had to lay off 12 people including my best friend.
We’d raised $2 million for our startup and burned through all of it.
I remember sitting in my car in the parking lot after the last
person left, just sitting there. Couldn’t drive. Couldn’t move.
That failure broke me. But it also rebuilt me from the ground up.
I stopped caring about looking successful and started caring about
BEING successful. There’s a difference. I went from startup founder
with a team of 15 to a broke freelancer cold-calling strangers for
$250 gigs.
Three years later, I’d built Sticky Marketing Solutions from nothing.
No investors. No fancy office. Just me, my laptop, and the lessons
from my failures.
Now I help small businesses compete with bigger players. Not because
I’m a genius. Because I’ve made every mistake possible, and I know
what actually works.
I've worked with over 80 clients since 2018. Plumbers in Detroit, e-commerce stores in Austin, B2B consultants in Denver. Real businesses with real budgets trying to get real results.
Everything I teach, I've tested myself. Some strategies worked great. Others failed spectacularly. I share both, the wins AND the embarrassing mistakes.
Most marketing agencies are built to bill hours, not deliver results. They send pretty reports. Use fancy jargon. Promise the moon. I built Sticky Marketing differently. My goal isn't to keep you as a client forever. It's to help you get results fast enough that you don't need me anymore. That's backwards from a business perspective, I know. But it's how I'd want to be treated if I were the client.
I’m not for everyone. If you want an agency that tells you what
you want to hear, that’s not me. But if you want someone who’ll
give you straight answers and focus on what actually works, we
might be a good fit.
If a strategy won't work for your business, I'll tell you before you spend a dime. Not after.
I've tested everything I recommend. On my own sites. On client sites. Over 80 engagements across 12 industries. I know what works.
I work with businesses that have 5-50 employees. Not enterprise. Not startups with VC money to burn. Real businesses with real budgets.
When you work with me, you work with ME. Not an account manager. Not a junior staffer. You get my direct line and my full attention.
Look, I’m not the right fit for every business. If you have a
$50K/month marketing budget and need a full-service agency with
50 employees, there are better options out there.
But if you’re a small business owner who’s been burned by agencies
before, or you’re tired of marketing advice that sounds good but
doesn’t actually work, we should talk.
I’ve been where you are. I’ve had to stretch every marketing dollar.
I’ve had to figure out what works with zero budget. That experience
taught me more than any certification or course ever could.
2006-2009: Account Executive at DDB Chicago
Learned what I DIDN’T want to become. The corporate world taught
me that politics and long hours don’t equal results.
2009-2012: Marketing Director at a credit union
First real marketing job. Made every mistake in the book. Faked
it until I made it.
2012-2015: Co-founded a tech startup
Raised $2 million. Burned through it in 3 years. Laid off everyone
including myself. Hardest thing I’ve ever done.
2015-2017: Freelance consultant
Started from zero. Cold-called 200 businesses. Got 3 clients.
Built everything from there.
2018-Present: Sticky Marketing Solutions
Finally figured out what I’m good at: fixing broken marketing funnels
and helping small businesses compete.
I live in Denver, Colorado. I have a 9-year-old daughter named Maya
(shared custody with her mom). I hike when I can, cook terrible
brisket that takes 12 hours, and root for the Detroit Lions—which
is its own kind of training in dealing with disappointment.
I read a lot. Biographies of people who failed before they succeeded.
Books on psychology and decision-making. I’m convinced that
understanding how people think is more useful than any marketing tactic.
No pressure. No sales pitch. Just a conversation about whether
what I do could help your business.
